Alasdair Blair is Professor of International Relations in the Department of International Studies and Social Science at Coventry University. He was held posts at Loughborough University, Nottingham Trent University and London Metropolitan University. Publications include Dealing with Europe: Britain and the negotiation of the Maastricht Treaty (1999), The Longman Companion to the European Union since 1945 (1999), Saving the Pound? Britain’s Road to Monetary Union (2002), The Making of Britain’s European Foreign Policy (with Anthony Forster, 2002), The European Union since 1945 (2005), Companion to the European Union (2006), as well as journal articles and book chapters. He is book review editor for European Foreign Affairs Review and a member of the executive committee of the British International History Group. Currently he is working on British Foreign Policy in the Twenty-First Century (2007), Britain and the European Union (2007), and International Politics: An Introductory Guide (2008). Alasdair is involved in three main areas of research:

  • Britain and European integration with particular attention to institutional and administrative adaptation.
  • British foreign policy in the cold war period.
  • European integration, with particular attention to the role of IGC negotiations.

Steven Curtis is now Senior Lecturer in International Relations in the Department of Law, Governance and International Relations, London Metropolitan University. Between 2005 and 2007 he was a Research Fellow on the project based at Coventry University, where he taught International Relations from 1997 to 2007. Since joining London Met, Steven has worked as a consultant on the project and is currently involved in the transferability stage.
