Covering letters:
Looking at the post details. First state your interest in the position advertised. Then write what you are currently doing, and address your skills you have acquired, directly with the skills that the position is requiring. End on a positive note, inferring that you would be an ideal candidate.
Interview Skills:
Prior to the Interview: It is worth finding all you can about the company by looking on its website. Key facts such as what they are known for, other locations, other major competitors in their field, and any latest reports or news about the company.
Look at any possible weakness areas in your application form, and try to imagine any questions that you might be asked, preparing your answers for them.
The Interview day: Dress should be smart, and you should be punctual, allowing extra time for your journey. A positive attitude in all areas (appearance, manner, and abilities), should be conveyed.
It is important at the interview that you come across as technically competent, and so capable of doing the job (as per the job description), either working alone or in a team setting. If there any areas of in-expertise, you should be willing and flexible enough to address these areas. Good Luck.
